- Authors
May, Jon; Andrade, Jackie; Kavanagh, David J.
- Abstract
The article looks into the role that motivational imagery plays in behavior and in identifying features in clinical or psychological disorders and their treatments. The author cites that the link between imagery and affect gives imagery a causative role in affective disorders, which suggest that in bipolar and anxiety disorders, state congruent imagery leads to further affective responses. Also explored is the El Theory, or the affective consequences of imagery.
