- Abstract
Presents information on a study by K. Hakala and others to clarify the effect of weight loss on various measures of pulmonary function such as peak expiratory flow (PEF) rate in patients with asthma. Description of the study and its results; Conclusion that in asthmatic patients weight loss produces a decrease in airway obstruction and PEF variability and improves asthma symptoms.
