Neurocysticercosis May No Longer Be a Public Health Problem in Mexico.
- Authors
Flisser, Ana; Correa, Dolores
- Abstract
In this article, the authors discuss how neurocysticercosis (NCC) is involved as a public health problem in Mexico. They are critical on the "Official Mexican Guidelines for the Control and Prevention of Taeniosis/Cysticercosis," which establishes criteria, strategies, and techniques in applying preventive and control measures for taeniosis and human and porcine cysticercosis in Mexico. Also investigated are the data that support the usefulness of the national program in disease intervention.
