- Authors
Speltz, Andrea
- Abstract
The article discusses the ramifications of a polyperspectival treatment of female desire in the novels "Geschichte des Fräuleins von Sternheim," by Sophie von La Roche, "Die Geschichte des Agathon," by Christoph Martin Wieland, and "Emilia Galotti," by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. It says that the novels have asexual story, wherein a woman flees a man to prevent him from destroying her innocence. It adds that the portrayal of desire on character Daphne is not an innovation from 18th century.
