- Abstract
The article presents a case of a 12-year-old Caucasian boy who was admitted to the hospital due to severe dyspnoea, progressive asthenia and fever. A diagnosis for hypereosinophilia, including bone marrow aspiration reveals a negative result. It further reveals a severe asymmetric left-ventricular apical hypertrophy with complete obliteration during systole. Concentric endomyocardial wall thickening involving apical left ventricular segments and a large regional perfusion defect was also found.
