- Abstract
The case study considers the grey partridge, or Perdix perdix, an open farmland bird of Great Britain facing rapid population declines since 1970 as a result of changing land use patterns. The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust ran experiments in improving populations in Hertfordshire, England from 2002 to 2007. Issues considered include predator control, the creation and maintenance of field margin areas, and the reduction of pesticides to protect food supplies.
