- Abstract
The article discusses the use of dynamic ultrasound (US) guidance for the placement of central venous catheters (CVCs) and its associated complications, such as arterial cannulation and posterior vessel wall puncture. It discusses the advantages of the wire-in-needle (WIN) technique, which include superior manual dexterity, immediate placement of the guidewire in the target vessel and distinct US appearance that improves the operator's ability to visualize the needle.
