- Abstract
However, sensitivity to hormonal therapy is higher in Japanese patients than in Caucasian patients, and AA therapy is still considered useful in the era of new hormonal therapy.[[1]] We evaluated the prognostic significance of AA therapy, and compared PSA response rates for abiraterone and enzalutamide between responders and non-responders to AA therapy. After introduction of AA therapy, the numbers of patients achieving PSA decline >50%, 0-50% and unchanged elevation of PSA were 43 (30.5%), 37 (26.2%) and 61 (43.3%), respectively. AA therapy showed a significant relationship to OS both when (a) patients were divided into three groups according to decline in PSA and (b) when they divided into two groups according to PSA responses.
