- Abstract
Specimens of Eupodiscus radiatus Bailey from the northeastern Gulf of Mexico were examined with light and scanning electron microcopy. In contrast to previous studies of this taxon, we report the presence of two, rarely one, rimoportulae (labiate processes) between consecutive ocelli. This finding changes our understanding of the phylogenetic relationships in the family Eupodiscaceea.
