- Abstract
The article discusses the involvement of children and parents in occupational therapy for treatment interventions. Topics discussed include information on Self-Determination Theory (SDT) related to psychological needs for autonomy, the use of competence supportive strategies for cognitive engagement in therapy, and disadvantage of disengagement such as clinical problems for a practitioner.
