- Abstract
The author discusses the need for Australian government to consider health policy priorities such as keeping Medicare promise and getting system governance to the right path. He discusses the financial challenges confronting the health care system in terms of access to public hospital care, medical care cost, and unmet government-endorsed waiting time targets. He says that the government must advance the health care agenda for illness prevention and health improvement.
