- Abstract
Introduction: Pressure injuries are a global health concern, increasing costs and risks of infections, complicating recovery and demanding significant resources. The use of technologies such as photobiomodulation and photodynamics, combined with the specialized knowledge of professionals, can accelerate the resolution of these injuries, representing more effective therapeutic approaches. Results: notable improvements were observed in the six participants with pressure injuries, who showed both qualitative improvements, related to the bed and edges, and quantitative improvements, with a reduction in the size of the wounds. Conclusion: the implementation of photobiomodulation and/or photodynamics as adjuvant therapies in the treatment of pressure injuries had a positive impact, manifesting notable improvements in qualitative and quantitative aspects. The marked reduction in wound size suggests significant benefits of these approaches, highlighting their valuable contribution to the healing process. Furthermore, the introduction of technologies, such as those discussed, played a crucial role in the treatment of PI, expanding the therapeutic options for professionals involved in the present research.
