- Abstract
This paper presents the method for evaluating the electric resistance of polygonal pole for overhead power lines. Electric resistance along the construction of polygonal pole consists of the pole's material and the electric resistance of slipping contact between different parts of the pole. The resistance of the pole's material (galvanized steel) was measured on the real samples and the results were compared with literature values. The contact electric resistance was evaluated using numerical simulations (finite element method - FEM) and measurements on an experimental model of slip joint. To determine the total electric resistance of the pole was considered under the worst conditions.
