- Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of bacillus licheniformis capsule combined with nengquanli early enteral nutrition on nutritional status, immune parameters and the incidence of adverse reactions in patients with severe COPD who required mechanical ventilation. Methods Sixty-two patients with severe COPD required mechanical ventilation in our hospital from January 2016 to September 2017 were randomly divided into observation group (n =31 ) and control group (n = 31 ) . The observation group was given early (within 12 h of admission) nengquanli nasogastric bacillus licheniforrnis capsule ,while the control group was given only nengquanli feeding. On the day of admission and 15 d after treatment, the white blood cell count,C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, neutrophil percentage, hemoglobin , serum albumin, prealbumin index, and the levels of IgA,IgG and IgM were tested in the two groups. The rate of adverse reactions such as severe liver and kidney dysfunction, abdominal distension, vomiting, gastric retention, diarrhea and other adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Results There was no significant difference in the indicators between the two groups on the day of admission. After 15 d of treatment, the white blood cell count,Creactive protein, procalcitonin and neutrophil percentage were decreased, while the hemoglobin, serum albumin, prealbumin,IgG and IgM were increased, no significant difference in IgA was found between the two groups ,but in the observation group, the incidence rates of abdominal distension, gastric retention, diarrhea and other adverse reactions were fewer than those of the control group. Conclusion Bacillus licheniforrnis capsule combined with nengquanli early enteral nutrition is beneficial to the recovery of the infection indexes and immune indexes in severe COPD patients. The incidence of adverse reactions of combination use was superior to that of single application.
