- Abstract
Comprender e identificar los aspectos que generan mayor resiliencia en el sistema socioecológico local es fundamental para diseñar intervenciones futuras que promuevan su conservación. La oveja denominada Linca representa uno de los legados bioculturales del pueblo Mapuche de la Patagonia más importantes y menos conocidos. Estos ovinos ingresaron a la región junto a los colonizadores hace más de tres siglos y han sido casi totalmente desplazados por la raza Merino. En este trabajo se analizan los principales componentes que caracterizan a los productores de los ovinos Linca y que son claves para la conservación de esta práctica ancestral y que es parte sustancial de su conocimiento zoolóogico local (CZL). Entrevistas a artesanas/os (n = 51) que utilizan, demandan, o conocen la lana Linca y/o a sus criadoras/es permitieron localizar y entrevistar a 13 familias que resguardan estos ovinos. A partir de un trabajo interpretativo se identificaron tres componentes bioculturales y once variables analíticas. Un análisis de arquetipos permitió identificar tres perfiles dentro de este universo de productores/as denominados "Aguerrido", "Tenaz" y "Apegado". La asignación de los participantes a cada grupo, a partir de la menor distancia euclídea, y la incorporación de testimonios permiten caracterizar a estas familias que han preservado esta práctica ancestral. Entre las características principales de los productores se destaca el rol de las mujeres en el resguardo y trasmisión del lenguaje textil, y en el mantenimiento de la diversidad de ovinos Linca, y convierte a sus unidades familiares en guardianes de la herencia biocultural de esta raza local.
