- Abstract
This article presents information on plants diseases and pests. White blister on a glossy-leaved mutant of Brussels sprout was reported in 1961 and 1962. It is suggested that the susceptibility of the mutant may be linked with the absence of wax extrusions, which are in the form of plates and tubes on surfaces of leaves of glaucous plants. Between June 25 and July 17, 1962, six crops of broad beans were found in which downy mildew was present. Infections seen were light, grayish green spots on leaves and these enlarged into patches. On a North Wales nursery a bud-rot occurred on Gardenia plants growing in a heated glasshouse. The buds were found to be damaged by Botrytis cinerea Pers. ex. Fr., but also present were eelworms which appeared to belong to the species Aphelenchoides hunti Steiner.
