- Authors
Rao, Vijay M.; Levin, David C.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the overuse of diagnostic imaging in the U.S. They inform about a report from the organization America's Health Insurance Plans which states that 20 percent to 50 percent of high technology imaging offers unnecessary information. They reflect on an initiative called Choosing Wisely organized by the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation and the periodical "Consumer Reports," which limits unnecessary imaging studies.
