- Abstract
The article discusses the evaluations of patterns in the treatment of breast cancer in the U.S. which focuses on trends such as mastectomy and the use of radiation therapy (RT). It says that the mastectomy rates increased from 2004's 35% to 60% in 2007. It mentions that the contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (CPM) rates among unilateral breast cancer patients had increased 150% in 1998 to 2003.
