- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study that examined the muga silk moth, Antheraea assamensis larvae's host plant selection and the role of the antenna and maxillary palp. The study showed that competency of both antennae and maxillary palpi in preference for host plants, Persea bombycina and Litsea polyantha over the non-hosts, Litsea grandifolia and Ziziphus jub-juba. The odor choice test showed the nee for functional integration of a combination of olfactory and gustatory sensilia.
