The article offers information on the challenges of geriatrics health in the U.S. It represents a historical summary and description of the current circumstances of geriatrics, and discusses the projections of the future workforce in geriatrics as well. It explores Ignatz Leo Nascher's theory about geriatrics which should be considered as a distinct medical discipline, and mentions the multiple national programs created in geriatrics.
