- Abstract
The author discusses weaning from cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and states that it is a smooth transition from mechanical pump-assisted circulation to spontaneous heart activities with sufficient blood flow in order to maintain systemic circulation. The author further discusses the process of systematic process weaning and weaning phase is a critical time for confirming and verifying surgical results and achieving the optimization of hemodynamics.
