- Abstract
The main sources of contamination of water resources both surface when groundwater, runoff stands out mainly in carrying of contaminating substances, resulting in detrimental changes in water quality. This study aims to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of the water coming from the runoff of river basin Vacacaí-Mirim. For the realization of this study method was used the method "Cornell Sprinkle Infiltrometer" which promotes a simulated rain, with three samples of water from runoff, at 3, 30 and 60 minutes. After collection, laboratory tests were performed to determine the parameters (chlorides, Electrical Conductivity, Color, Fluoride, Dissolved Oxygen, pH, Potassium, Sodium, sedimentable solids). Chlorine values ranged from 0,05 to 0,59 mg L-1, Electrical Conductivity ranged from 31,1 to 188,1 mS cm-1, Color ranged between 0,9 and 523 uC, Fluoride concentrations ranged 0 to 2,1 mg L-1 Dissolved oxygen ranged from 0,9 to 8,4 mg L-1, the pH ranged from 5,7 to 7,41, the potassium concentration ranged from 0 to 20 mg L-1 sodium values ranged from 2 to 171 mg L-1, the concentration of sedimentable solids ranged from 0,01 to 5,6 mg L-1. The results of the analyzes of variance revealed no interactions between factors use and soil management at the beginning of runoff for any of the variables studied, whereas chemical changes in the water depending on the period from the beginning of runoff there was a significant effect only the color of the water.
