- Abstract
This article discusses the importance of cardiovascular health (CVH) and the impact of social determinants of health (SDOH) on blood pressure (BP) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. The study analyzed data from the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) study and found that better CVH was associated with lower BP trajectories over time. However, the study also highlights the disparities in CVH and BP burden among different racial and ethnic groups and those with adverse SDOH. The authors suggest that addressing social and economic inequalities is crucial for reducing CVD risks and promoting equitable opportunities for better CVH.
