- Authors
Jones, Janette S.
- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 23-year-old female who presented for her first pelvic examination. The patient showed extreme anxiety when she presented, which is common in patients presenting for their first pelvic examination. It is suggested that a clinician should conduct an annual pelvic examination in women with a history of sexual violence and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with utmost sensitivity and care.
