The article offers information on use of phenomena for drive student questions in science education. Topics discussed include recommendation for asking students to develop a hypothesis about what makes Houston susceptible to flooding; suggestions for inviting soil expert from the local environmental education center to come in to talk to the students about soil; and use of three dimensional (3D) assessment.
