- Authors
Dudley, Susan; Warren, Melinda
- Abstract
The article provides information on the report "Moderating Regulatory Growth: An Analysis of the U.S. Budget for Fiscal Years 2006 and 2007," prepared by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in Virginia and the Murray Weidenbaum Center at Washington University in Saint Louis. Monitoring the spending of federal regulatory agencies and the trends in regulatory expenditures aids analysts in tracking the development of regulations. It shows that regulatory expenditures and staffing reach 44.1%, despite the spending control in the 2007 budget request.
