- Title
RICHARD BENTLEY'S USE OF PERSONA, 1732.
- Authors
Stanley, E. G.
- Abstract
The article states that Richard Bentley, in the preface to his edition of "Paradise Lost," makes use of a supposed "Editor" of the poem, who comes between John Milton and the printers. Bentley had no difficulty in detecting the Editor's work, and therefore he was able to restore the poem as in Bentley's view, Milton had composed it.
