The article presents author's views on guidance given by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) on managing cardiovascular disease in pregnancy. Topics discussed include higher rates of postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) and role of antibiotic prophylaxis, reduction in cardiovascular stress, and pulmonary oedema.
