- Abstract
The article presents a research which examines the tensile bond strength of EB composite resin to Ni-Cr alloy in chemically coupled resin bonded restorations. Under the research, as reported, scanning electron microscope evaluation was done to observe the resin-alloy interface and evaluation of 2 year results of the application of a chemical coupling agent to resin bonded restorations was done. The research concludes that, the high bond strength of the composite resin to the alloy in chemically coupled resin bonded restorations was due to both mechanical retention and chemical coupling. The research concludes that, the chemically coupled resin bonded restoration can be used as a short-term alternative to the etched cast restoration.
