- Abstract
This study aims to determine the reflections of Sait Faik Abasıyanık in his work named Avare Gençlik through the reality in the published works of Fikret Adil. In his work published in 1962, Fikret Adil examined the adaptation of the intellectual community to modernism after World War II, the interaction of the bohemian lifestyle with American culture, the free lives, and the passionate love of people who belong to a narrow society. Fikret Adil presented the unique features of Sait Faik Abasıyanık with his character "Çakır Adalı" while examining the lifestyle of a narrow circle of people who are not bound by moral rules. In his works titled Asmalımescit 74 and Intermezzo, in which he tells about the 1930s as a period, the author narrates the memories of the artists he met in friendly assemblies, adhering to reality. In his work titled Avare Gençlik, he has depicted individuals of the intellectual community that came to life in Istanbul, who are unlimited, free, and who enjoy living life; As he saw fit before, he presented the unique features of real people with fictional characters through different names. When the author's previously published works are examined, the common point of the texts is the similarity in the writing process. While creating his works, Adil used his observations, experiences, and many anecdotes about memories as a source, and because of this preference, the works came up with a narrative close to reality. The features of the fictional character named "Çakır Adalı," resembling Sait Faik in this work, in which the life of the partners of a love adventure away from society, their desires, and the unboundedness of women's adaptation to the modern age are examined, are presented to the reader with the testimony of Fikret Adil.
