- Abstract
The article features the life of Charles Chiniquy and his writing which aims to provide insight into his atypical Presbyterianism. It states that Chiniquy was an excommunicated Roman Catholic priest who converted to the American Presbyterian Church. It mentions that he was a believer of a certain form of Presbyterianism wherein he was provided a certain amount of leeway in his fight with Romanism and advancement of French Canadian evangelization. It also notes that Chiniquy was a nominal Presbyterian, a sacramental Methodist, but a fundamental Baptist.
