- Abstract
The article presents that 9 of the 17 patients had occupational disorders, 8 with symptoms suggestive of contact urticaria, 1 with contact dermatitis from albendazole. Most had associated rhinitis and conjunctivitis. Exposure to the drug was heaviest in the liquids section, where a grinding process produced severe airborne contamination in a small, poorly ventilated area. Symptoms thus arose from airborne exposure of the skin of the face, conjunctivae and upper respiratory tract.
