- Abstract
Dear Editor, Lues maligna, or malignant syphilis, is an uncommon yet severe variant of secondary syphilis associated with immunodeficiency disorders such as HIV/AIDS.1 We present this case to demonstrate the diverse presentations of secondary syphilis, especially among young immunocompromised individuals, and heighten clinician suspicion and awareness of the disease. Recognizing the many presentations of syphilis is essential in clinical practice, especially in patients with HIV/AIDS, and can aid clinicians in early diagnosis and treatment. The patient was diagnosed with lues maligna, or ulceronodular syphilis.
