- Authors
Litwin, Mark S.; Miller, David C.
- Abstract
The article offers opinion on a research study which compared the survival rates of men who were aggressively treated for prostate cancer upon diagnosis, with those who were watched and were only treated if the cancer progressed. The methodology and research results are analyzed and discussed. A discussion of the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of localized prostate tumors in the survival rates of men is presented. Suggestions for the ways physicians should use and interpret medical studies relating to prostate cancer are offered.
