- Abstract
The article presents an editorial looking at chronic diseases in infants, children, and young adults and invites authors to submit original research, commentaries, and systemic reviews on such topics. The "Journal of the American Medical Association" will devote the June 2007 issue to chronic diseases in children and youth. The article discusses the burden of chronic diseases on children, their families, and the health care systems throughout the world, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, and childhood chronic diseases including obesity, malnutrition, sickle cell disease, cardiovascular disease, asthma, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and learning disabilities.
