- Authors
Karchmer, Adolf W
- Abstract
The author discusses a study published within the issue which presented the results of a randomized, multicenter, superiority open-label trial comparing treatment of adults with methicillin-resistant S. aureus bacteremia (MRSAB) using high-dose taptomycin plus fosfomycin versus similarly dosed daoptomycin alone. Topics include the utility of the assessment in selecting therapy and the quest for combination antimicrobial therapy that improves outcomes of Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB).
