The article offers information on several women who participated in the formation of the Women Cross Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Korea as a result of the division of Korean Peninsula by the Soviet Union and the U.S. including peace activists Leymah Gbowee and Mairead Maguire, and activist Gloria Steinem. Topics discussed include masculinization of society heightened by the division of Korean Peninsula.
