- Abstract
The article discusses a case study of a 55-year-old male with loin pain and macroscopic hematuria. Topics discussed include development of cardiac tamponade in metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients treated with drug sunitinib, pathogenic mechanism of cardiovascular toxicity induced by sunitinib, and role played by hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) in renal carcinogenesis. It also discusses tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-associated cardiotoxicity.
