- Abstract
The shear performance of precast composite beams with stud connectors and detachable prefabricated composite beams with high‐strength bolt connectors are tested and studied. A total of 12 push‐out specimens were designed for tests, and then the nonlinear finite element models of two kinds of composite beams with different types of connectors were developed. Results show that the failure mode of all push‐out specimens is the shear failure of connectors, but the load‐slip curves of the two connectors are obviously different. It is found that the stiffness of stud connectors is higher, and the ultimate bearing capacity of high‐strength bolt connectors is higher. For stud connectors and high‐strength bolt connectors in this work, the reduction of shear capacity of connectors caused by the group nail effect is not considered. Moreover, the effects of different parameters on the shear performance of stud connectors and high strength bolt connectors were studied by using finite element model. The optimal preload applied to high‐strength bolt connectors with different diameters and strength grades was obtained.
