- Abstract
The article presents news briefs about biotechnology for the period ended June 1, 2006. Promising results were shown by the combination of the steroid prednisolone and the anti-clotting drug dipyridamole in the reduction of the levels of C-reactive protein in patients with chronic gum disease. Intellectual property laws are being strictly enforced in China to reduce the prevalence of pirated personal computer software. Geneticallty modified crop seed supplier Syngenta is departing from the cotton-seed business.
