- Abstract
The author examines developments related to human rights in Egypt five years after the January 2011 revolution that removed President Hosni Mubarak from power. She describes the history of the human rights movement in the country, as well as the significance of the 2011 revolution to the movement. She also explores the impact of the fragility of the transition process and the reshaping of Egypt's identity on national security and stabilization efforts.
