- Abstract
The article presents an eco-epidemiologic investigation of Rickettsia parkeri based on the case of a 44-year-old female patient who developed tick-borne rickettsiosis as a result of wildlife hunting in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The diagnosis was confirmed after performing paired serologic testing, actual investigation of the patient's house and taxonomic identification. The ticks included the species of Amblyomma (A.) dubitatum, Rhipicephalus sanguineus and A. tigrinum.
