- Abstract
It is followed in sequence by two further female portraits attributed to Derickson, I Portrait of "The Fair Geraldine" (Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Countess of Lincoln, 1528-1589) i (c. 1567), from the National Gallery of Ireland and I Susan Bertie, Countess of Kent i (1567). This is intended to situate the work of the Master of the Countess of Warwick as a material link between artists working in the two media. Cecil is accordingly represented by a portrait by an unknown artist, lent by the National Portrait Gallery, previously considered as the work of the Master of the Countess of Warwick, but now thought unlikely to be so.
