- Abstract
The article offers information on a study conducted to determine whether genomic variations in the OPRM1, ABCB1, and COMT genes are associated with length of hospital stay (LOS) and the need for treatment of Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). It informs that multicenter cohort study was conducted at five tertiary care centers and community hospitals in Massachusetts and Maine from July 2011 to July 2012. The study concludes that variants in the OPRM1 and COMT genes were associated with a shorter length of hospital stay among infants suffering with NAS.
