- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined the cure kinetics of epoxy-novolac compounds through differential scanning calorimetry with a dynamic approach. It notes that a kinetic model was developed for this study. Results of the study showed that the reactions had an autocatalytic nature for epoxy-novolac molding compounds and silica-free imidazole-cured epoxy-novolac systems. It also found that the high content of silica fillers caused the weak extent of autocatalysis in the compounds.
