- Abstract
The article presents a study on the synthesis and swelling behavior of grafted carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt (CMC)/silica gel superabsorbent composite. For the study, researchers investigated the morphology of the compounds through the use of scanning electron microscopy. Swelling results of the optimized hydrogel in various salt solutions revealed effective swelling capacity. They found that the composite had high water absorbency in the 0.9 percent saline solution.
