- Abstract
The present study was carried out on the assessment of production and performance of the Kadaknath under Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Balrampur, I.G.K.V., Raipur (Chhattisgarh), India. One day old Kadaknath chicks were obtained from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kanker and reared till maturity in K.V.K. Balrampur. Quarterly, body weight was recorded to select the best birds for the coming generation. Hatch weight of Kadaknath was 28.01 ± 0.49 g. Eighth-week body weight of male and female was 473.04 ± 1.29 and 415.21 ± 1.16 g, respectively while, 12th week body weight of male and female was 804.14 ± 1.15 and 624.14 ± 1.21 g, respectively. The percentage of hen day egg production for Kadaknath was 47.68 ± 1.9. External and internal egg quality parameters were also denoted during the study period.
