- Abstract
The article discusses the age-guided approach to manage adnexal masses in women. It provides an overview on the incidence of asymptomatic adnexal masses in women 25-40 years of age and four case studies in which different approaches to manage adnexal masses according to different age groups were illustrated. It explains the risk factors for ovarian carcinoma and the significance of different imaging systems as well as the effective markers that will identify the malignant disease. It also cites the benefits and problems involved in screening tests and the importance of using the age, ultrasound findings, and serum glycoprotein CA 125 in guiding the management of the malignant disease appropriately.
