Investigates the microstructure and phase development during the thermal decomposition of the sol-gel precursor coatings of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin films on platinized silicon substrates for a triol sol-gel route. First crystalline phase to appear at the interface; Presence of high levels of porosity in many of the fully crystallized films.
