- Abstract
The article discusses the possible role of litR transcriptional regulator as a photosensor and wide distribution in non-phototrophic bacteria. LitR is a regulator that controls light-induced carotenogenesis in Streptomyces coelicolor. It discovers homologs encoded at illumination-related loci of various non-phototrophic bacterial genomes.
